The FALL Classic is held in honor of a Lynchburg local, Jim Shircliff, who lost his battle to Leukemia in 2002. Friends and family have established this tournament to help end Leukemia and Lymphoma. Jim was a long time Lynchburg businessman and a devoted Rotarian. He loved Lynchburg and would be honored by the great local business support given to this cause.
Our mission and our hope is to bring awareness, funding, and ultimately a cure to blood-related cancers so that no other friend or family member will face this disease.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The mission of LLS is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Since its founding in 1949, LLS has invested more than $550 million for research specifically targeting blood cancers.
